HISTORY

Early in 2001, Richard Iceland, a photographer and photo teacher, began editing pictures in a lounge on a cruise ship.  In a very few minutes, several people were looking over his shoulder, and within an hour, almost eighty passengers had gathered around.  After an hour of "informal instruction" Mr. Iceland agreed to meet again with the group during the next day at sea.  When that meeting took place, almost one hundred passengers showed up.
Upon arriving home, Mr. Iceland realized there was a need for photography instruction aboard cruise ships and in the

tourism industry. For almost two years he worked at putting together an inexpensive, simple, but comprehensive program that could be implemented easily aboard cruise ships and at resorts, with consistency, and effectiveness, but geared to the tourist, looking to get better photos and videos n their vacation. ;THE PROGRAM IS NOW PRESENTED ON PRINCESS CRUISES AND HAS EXPANDED TO INCLUDE THE TOURIST INDUSTRY IN SEVERAL CITIES ACROSS THE USA. Consistency comes from a program that Mr. Iceland developed and copyrighted in the early 80s, when he lectured at Columbia Scholastic Press Association as an annual guest speaker. At that time, the challenge was to train and educate students at all levels, in 3 one hour sessions.
That same challenge exists in the tourism industry today. ;The program designed by Mr. Iceland is called The Photo FAST Method of Photography;(c)
As Mr. Iceland developed the program, he sought the expertise of his wife, Jane, a well traveled photographer and a diligent researcher. ;Until Photo FAST, there was NO comprehensive and uniform photo instruction program in the cruise ship industry or in the tourism industry.
The research showed there was definite need for such a program and through Photo FAST that program is now a reality After years and months of careful planning and preparation, Photo FAST Inc. hosts the first instructional program of it's kind.At no expense or risk to the resort or cruise line  and with NO C OMPETITION  to existing photographers, PFI offers a complete program, including instruction to ship's photographers,

varied schedule of workshops, a variety of workshops, teaching guidelines, instructioal CDs and the Photo FAST Method of Photography The program is designed to meld with existing photo promotions and activities already presented as part of the industry. The program offers an enhancement of activities, adding profits to the resort or cruise ship through increased D & P and other  activities included in the PFI program. The major advantage to using PhotoFAST Inc. is that the resort or ship need only announce the presence of Photo Workshops.  All other responsibilities are taken on by Photo FAST Inc.
