SMOKY MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE - CADES COVE
For most of the year, CADES COVE offers an abundance of
WILDLIFE including BEARS AND DEER, as well as the
opportunity to photograph beautiful mountains and valleys.
The tour starts with an early morning stop for coffee and... at
The WILDFLOWER BAKE SHOP and continues through WEARS
VALLEY to CADES COVE. An historical narration and one on
one photo instruction are given throughout the tour. The tour
returns to the Pigeon Forge Area for lunch and the completion
of a great day.
HISTORY OF SMOKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK
EAST TENNESSEE and THE SMOKY MOUNTAINS are steeped
in history. Explore that history with a trip to the APPALACHIAN
HERITAGE MUSEUM in TOWNSEND, TN where the mountain
culture is brought to life for every visitor. The LITTLE RIVER
RAILROAD MUSEUM displays the only fully geared locomotive
used in the logging industry from the area. SUGARLANDS is
the welcome center for THE GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAIN
NATIONAL PARK and there will be ample time to enjoy the
movie about the park, and to explore the fantastic displays in
the Great Smoky Mountain National Park Museum. There are
many Park Rangers to answer your questions, and a great gift
shop to top off the day, before returning to Pigeon Forge for
lunch and a little more shopping at The OLD MILL area.
ULTIMATE EAST TENNESSEE TOUR
With 2 DAMS & 2 SPECTACULAR LOOKOUTS
DOUGLAS DAM LOOKOUT is the first stop of this spectacular
tour. The view of the SMOKY MOUNTAINS with DOUGLAS
LAKE in the foreground is breathtaking. Next it is a short drive
to HISTORICAL DANDRIDGE for lunch. After lunch we head to
CHEROKEE DAM on the HOLSTON RIVER. Next, we travel
around CHEROKEE LAKE to the hunting grounds of the
Cherokee, Daniel Boone, and Davy Crockett. We stop at the 2nd
overlook,VETERANS MEMORIAL OVERLOOK, where you will
view the CUMBERLAND VALLEY and beautiful CHEROKEE
LAKE, the scene of THE BATTLE OF BEAN STATION from the
Civil War. Return to Pigeon Forge, along the foothills of
ENGLISH MOUNTAIN, through some of the prettiest country in
East Tennessee.
DOUGLAS DAM, HISTORICAL DANDRIDGE, and
BUSH'S BAKED BEANS EXHIBIT AND MUSEUM
Travel to a breath-taking view of THE SMOKIES from DOUGLAS
DAM LOOKOUT. Continue along DOUGLAS LAKE to the second
oldest town in TN, DANDRIDGE, home to the OLDEST WORKING
COURTHOUSE in the Country, where you will find the marriage
certificate for DAVY and POLLY CROCKETT. After lunch,
explore the HISTORY OF DANDRIDGE with an orientation from
your guide. Then walk the 2 block area where you will find the
TINSLEY BIBLE DRUG STORE, built in 1911, complete with a
working 1930s SODA FOUNTAIN. MOUNTING BLOCKS for the
ladies to mount their horses are still in the intersections. Next,
enjoy a ride along ENGLISH MOUNTAIN to a TOUR of BUSHES
BAKED BEANS CO. with it's HANDS ON EXHIBITS, MUSEUM,
AND GENERAL STORE.
DOLLY TOUR
STOPS AT ARTS & CRAFTS COMMUNITY,
REVOLUTIONARY WAR CEMETERY and
COVERED BRIDGES
This tour starts with a short PHOTO WORKSHOP and then It's
on to the HARRISBURG COVERED BRIDGE, built in 1870 for
spectacular photos. Lunch is next at a fantastic restaurant in
the area. After lunch we drive along THE EAST FORK of the
LITTLE PIGEON RIVER past where Dolly was born & raised, and
where she attended school. Next we stop at EMERETT'S COVE
CEMETERY and COVERED BRIDGE and then it is off to shop in
the ARTS and CRAFTS COMMUNITY. We finish with story
telling, at A TROLL IN THE PARK, and a broom making
demonstration at DAVID OGLE'S BROOMS, also in the Arts and
Crafts Community. If you love crafts, photography, shopping,
and/or history, this tour is for you!
DINNER AND A SHOW - COUNTRY TONITE
Start with a stop for photos and shopping at THE OLD MILL on
the river. Have dinner at an elegant restaurant with candlelight
and gourmet breads dipped in olive oil (included in price). Then
enjoy COUNTRY TONITE. COUNTRY TONITE has been voted the
